The Alberta Human Rights Commission has collaborated with BPW Calgary to educate the workforce since 2012. On August 13, 2016, BPW Canada recognized the Alberta Human Rights Commission as one of the 100 organizations from across Canada to receive the 2016 BPW Canada Centennial Recognition Award to mark a Canadian milestone, the 100 years of women's suffrage. The Centennial Gala and Awards Night paid tribute to the 100 organizations that are dedicated to improving lives of Canadian women and girls, their families and their communities. BPW Alberta has joined the Alberta Council For Global Cooperation to form a network in Alberta that works locally and globally to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Our common vision is that all women and men can reach their full potential, become active citizens, in peaceful, just and inclusive societies and thrive in a healthy, sustainable world. On December 18, 2020, BPW members and guests gathered virtually for The Female Brain Film Screening and a live discussion with the film's director Whitney Cummings and producer Erika Olde, recipient of the 2017 Inaugural BPW Canada Recognition Award. BPW Alberta was pleased to support BPW Grand Cayman in assisting women in need to recover from the negative impact of the pandemic in the BPW Region of North America and the Caribbean.
